Project notes
This project is meant for makers who want a useful desktop object instead of another shelf ornament. The planter combines a printable outer shell, removable grow pods, and a small recirculating pump into one tidy package that can live beside a window, on a kitchen counter, or at the edge of a workbench.
The design prioritizes serviceability. The lid lifts off without tools, each pod can be removed independently, and the pump line runs through a rear channel so the front view stays clean. That makes it easier to refill water, swap seedlings, clean the reservoir, or iterate on your own accessories later.
Expect a balanced build: there is enough printing to feel substantial, but the assembly stays approachable with simple screws, tubing, and low-voltage wiring. By the end, you will have a working hydroponic setup and a repeatable pattern for designing small functional products around printed parts.
Follow the project in order from setup to final calibration.
